In 2020 I was delighted to work with Ishrat of Fruitful Fusion, having seen her lovely hand-dyed yarns at Yarningham the previous year, in designing these delicate mitts.
‘Nafura’ is an Arabic word meaning ‘fountain’. Featuring short rows and lateral braids, knitted flat from side to side with a picot edging, the undulating contours of the stitch pattern in these mitts represents rippling water and perfectly shows off the subtle colour changes of the hand-dyed yarn of the same name.
Kits are available from Fruitful Fusion or the downloadable pattern is available on Ravelry here.
