Not so long ago I visited a lovely yarn shop called Ippikin in Much Wenlock en route to seeing the ruins of Wenlock Priory. I picked up some of the new Wild Wool by Erika Knight, which contains nettle fibre and was inspired to design something based on the architecture of the priory, in particular the remains of intricate tracery in the stonework. The result is this cowl.
I have also been exploring the use of Latvian braids to embellish my designs and this cowl uses the technique to create a rope-like edging. See my blog post here for more information on this technique.
The pattern is available on Ravelry here and on Lovecrafts here.
