I have always wanted to design something inspired by the wonderful apse of the basilica of SS Maria e Donato on the Venetian island of Murano.
My Maria Donato top features mosaic colourwork and slipped-stitch patterns and is knitted in the round from the bottom up, divided and worked flat then joined again at the shoulder. The armholes are finished with an i-cord edging.
It first appeared at Edinburgh Yarn Festival in March 2019 on the Border Mill stand, but is also available in my Ravelry store here.
